Look no further! The Canada Games is slated to be hosted in the Halifax Regional Municipality and province of Nova Scotia from February 11-27, 2011. Over 3,600 athletes, coaches and managers will descend on Halifax to compete in 20 national sport championships. A complementary cultural and artistic program will also showcase to the rest of Canada the culture and people of Nova Scotia.
One of FUSION's priorities is to ensure that leadership capacity in Halifax is built by tapping into the next generation. We want our members to play a pivotal role in key initiatives in our city.
That is why FUSION Halifax is thrilled to be partnering with the Canada Games Team to solicit interest from members for some key senior leadership roles in the Canada Games.
24 Senior Planning Volunteers, who will also form the Operations Committee.
Division Chairs are available in each of the following areas:
- Marketing
- Sponsorship
- Language Services
- Ceremonies
- Culture & Festivals
- Administration & Finance
- Volunteer Management Logistics
- Project Management
- Athlete Services (Villages)
- Venue Management
- Sport Services
- Information Technology
- Medical
These positions require specific technical skills and a significant time investment. BUT involvement will be a once in a generation opportunity.
