Dear FUSION Halifax Members:
Since 1970, Earth Day (April 22nd) has been an opportunity to celebrate events addressing local and global environmental issues. This year, on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, FUSION Halifax invites you to join 6 millionCanadians and 500 million people in over 180 countries to use Earth Day to think in terms of our way of life and as anopportunity to meet today's environmental challenges. The FUSION Halifax Sustainability Action Team wants to raise awareness that even small actions canmake a difference. That's why we challenge you to join with us in making an Earth Day Pledge of action. Whether you pledge to do something on Earth Day only or to change your daily routine, these actions will help preserve theenvironment that all of us enjoy.
Here's what to do:
1. Download and Complete the pledge form. The form is available here: Earth Day Pledge Form
2. Save and send your form, or send an email to tell us what you plan to do, to gmail.com.
3. Spread the word. Please pass this challenge on to others.
4. Carry out your pledge.
Please also feel free to send us stories, pictures or anecdotes about your Earth Day pledge. Updates and examples of your pledges and stories may be posted on our website.
Want to join some other FUSION members to celebrate Earth Day? In conjunction with the Earth Day Pledge, the Sustainability Action Team will be hosting a litter pick-up beginning atParade Square at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Bring your friends, co-workers and family/partners to participate in this event to help beautify our city and bring awareness to Earth Day!
