Winner: Andrew Russell

Andrew is one of the top 10 canoeists in the world, representing Canada at the Beijing Olympic Summer Games in 2008, bringing Canada its best ever performance in the C2-500m and C2-1000m events. Andrew mentors and coaches young paddlers in the community, and has spent countless hours visiting HRM schools to speak to youth about goal-setting, achieving your dreams, and the importance of staying active.

Ashwin Kutty

• Working for Capital Health, Ashwin creates an atmosphere of patient-centered care, leading quality improvements in the Mental Health & Forensics Program.
• Ashwin was recently named a finalist for the IT Leader of the Year award by IT World Canada.

• As the former Executive Director of the Maritime Heart Center, Rachel created an innovative exercise program called Maritime Heart Center Boot Camp that increases accessibility to, and affordability of, physical activity to Haligonians.
• Rachel recently started medical school and remains an active and valued volunteer with the Maritime Heart Center and its programs, and also volunteers at Ronald McDonald House.
