Halifax, NS – January 4, 2011 - FUSION Halifax wants to engage people between
the ages of 20 and 40 to help shape the future of the city. FUSION Halifax is hosting
the second annual Open House on January 13 from 6 – 9 pm at Mix Fresh Kitchen,
5171 Salter Street, www.mixfreshkitchen.ca. The FUSION Halifax Open House is
an opportunity to bring together people in all sectors of our community to inspire active
citizenship, create dynamic networks, develop new friendships and generate great ideas in
everything from business, to arts and culture to sustainable communities.
“We are continually striving to provide ways for existing and new members to contribute
in a meaningful way,” said Jennifer Berry, Chair of FUSION Halifax. “This is a perfect
opportunity to introduce FUSION Halifax to potential new members and embrace the
energy and enthusiasm of current members. People who are interested in FUSION Halifax
can come to the Open House and learn more about the organization by talking to Action
Team Directors; to see where they best fit and can make the most difference.”
FUSION Halifax is made up of six action teams:
During the Open House, each Action Team and Operational Teams (Marketing,
Communications, Events and Membership & Volunteerism) will have a booth set-up in
a trade-show style format. Directors and members will be on hand to discuss the roles of
action teams and to meet with possible new members about the role that they can play in the organization.
