Insights into LinkedIn with Jonathan Lister

Friday, March 7 2011

HALIFAX, NS, March 24, 2011 — FUSION Halifax members will gather with other professionals in Halifax on April 7th to hear from Jonathan Lister, Managing Director for Canada and Latin America at LinkedIn.

Lister will speak to how professionals can leverage social media to build a strong and relevant online network, reap the benefits of online communities and showcase professional expertise. The brand called ‘you’ is the professional brand you show to employers, collaborators, clients and colleagues. How you market that brand is essential to your professional success.

“As a father of a son with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes and as a corporate supporter of JDRF, I am pleased to have Jonathan join us in Halifax,” states Keith Skiffington, the National Family Walk Chair for JDRF Canada.  “Using social media to boost fundraising efforts has become a new way of reaching out to our corporate colleagues, so we are looking forward to learning more about LinkedIn.”

Presented by FUSION Halifax and Sponsored my MT&L Public Relations, all proceeds from this event will go to the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation.

“FUSION Halifax is thrilled to support this event,” remarks Jennifer Berry, Chair FUSION Halifax.  “In today’s digital economy personal branding is more important than ever, an event like this will help young professionals build a solid online presence as they start their careers.”

The cost for this event is $20, tickets can be purchased at www.linkedinhalifax.com. Breakfast starts at 7:30am with Jonathan Lister speaking at 8:00am.
