On August 15th Peter MacKay announced the federal governments support of $51.4 millions for our new convention centre in the heart of Downtown Halifax. This announcement instills confidence in the Downtown, HRM and Nova Scotia. This new convention centre will be a hub of cultural activity and will showcase the best of Halifax and Nova Scotia and all our diverse communities.
FUSION Halifax is excited that the 3 levels of government have backed this world class development that will hopefully act as a catalyst to bring more people, business and opportunity to our fair city. There is still lots of work to do. Rank Inc. will be undertaking an extensive public consultation process over the coming months and we encourage everyone to get involved. This is an exciting opportunity to have your say on what you want this centre to look and feel like.
