We’ve heard a lot of people talking about how great Halifax could be if only…. and others wishing they could meet more people like themselves.
- We will work to capture the voice, spirit and engagement of 20-40 year olds in shaping the future of our great city.
- We bring together people in all sectors of our community to inspire active citizenship, create dynamic networks, develop new friendships and generate great ideas in everything from business, to arts and culture to sustainable communities.
Created for young people, by young people, this group will also take on those hot topics, everything from affordable housing to ‘real jobs’ for young people, and make them happen.
The diversity and support of this community helps feed our souls while opening our eyes to the world. We need to continue to grow and we need to tell people why it's important to us.
Our city is currently challenged to find a blend of heritage and history with modern architectural design. We believe it is possible to create a smart community, one that provides a wealth of living options at all income levels, allows for effective public transportation and minimizes urban sprawl.
We want to make our ecological footprint as small as possible and are committed to do everything we can to make it happen. We want our recycling programs to be world-class. We want to minimize our carbon emissions and we want our businesses to be environmental role models.
We want to live in a community that reflects the diversity of the world around us. We are committed to creating a welcoming and open community for everyone.
We want to become a talent magnet. We want people to come to Halifax because it is a leader, a city that provides opportunities for young people that is rivalled globally. We want to deliver the community and business leaders of tomorrow.
It's great to have a fun, vibrant city with lots to do, but if you don’t have great career opportunities nothing matters. We want young people to be able to build a successful career that doesn’t compromise their quality of life and we want them to be able to do it in Halifax.
FUSION Halifax is a group for everyone…transplants (those of you that came here seeking quality of life), boomerangs (those who lived here, left and came back) and homegrowns.
One voice alone can’t change the world, but a couple hundred can definitely move the needle in Halifax.
