* Why FUSION Halifax? What do you hope to accomplish in your role this year?

FUSION is a great place to meet people and to get involved shaping our City. That’s why I joined… and because I like a good project. This year I want to continue the Sustainability Action Team’s work on transit, continue work in other areas or with other partnerships such as Fair Trade, local food and local economies, but also work toward better engagement.

I also work part-time as a Passion Parties Consultant… it’s always the quiet ones.

About your HALIFAX

* What do you love about the East Coast? What’s the best thing about living in Halifax?

My favourite thing about the East Coast is being so close to the water, no matter where you go. And of course, the people. The best thing about living in Halifax is that it’s a small big city – I don’t feel we lack for much, but we’re small enough that people still look out for one another and I always run into someone I know.

* If the sky was the limit, what would you change about Halifax?

I’d give Halifax the best public transit system EVER!

* What is your favorite restaurant/pub/place to meet?

I love the nachos at the Moustache… but I love the pizza at Alexandra’s… and I love picking out my treat for the day each Saturday at the Market… I really just love food. And I’ve also had some great meet-ups at all three places.

* What would you tell a new young person moving to Halifax?

Opportunities to meet people and have fun are definitely not scarce – don’t be afraid to talk to people because they’ll tell you where it’s at.

* If someone were to ask you, “Who should I know in Halifax?” Who would you recommend they meet?

Me? No seriously – if you’re reading this, you’re probably a pretty cool person and someone I’d like to know, so I’m going to be selfish and want to meet you first. Plus anything I can’t answer or can’t provide I’ll direct you accordingly. I like to be helpful.
