* Why FUSION Halifax? What do you hope to accomplish in your role this year?
FUSION is doing lots of excellent things. Our executive is full of excellent planners and visionaries. I hope contribute to Fusion's goals by providing tactical support when unexpected problems or obstacles arise. I offer foul-weather friendship - when things are going well I'll cheer quietly from the sidelines; when things get stormy please wake me up and send me out front.
* Tell us something about yourself that we’d be surprised to know:
I hope to sail around the world with my family before our first child starts school. (At least part of the world.)
* If the sky was the limit, what would you change about Halifax?
More buses, trains, and ferries. More walking streets. I'd build beautiful and tasteful architecture that didn't compromise the designer's vision. I'd ensure that universal childcare.
* What is your favorite restaurant/pub/place to meet?
Needham Park.
* What would you tell a new young person moving to Halifax?
This place is ripe for invention and rediscovery. Settle down and make it yours.
* If someone were to ask you, “Who should I know in Halifax?” Who would you
recommend they meet?
Meet all the librarians you can. I doubt you can find a class of people more universally dedicated to education and community.
