|
What is the burning issue, your passion? What keeps you up at night?
Halifax. I love this city and I want to see it become the best city it possibly can. I want to see much more density in our city in well designed buildings.
Tell us a little about yourself
I graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Community Design in 2008. Since then I have been working part time at the Sportsplex Bingo while trying to begin my career in city planning and urban design.
Why do you live in Halifax now?
I live here because I love it. I think I can make a difference in this city to make it a better place for future generations.
What do you love about living in Halifax/being an East Coaster?
I love the people and the ocean. The people are some of the kindest and friendliest I have ever encountered. I don’t know if I could ever live away from the ocean, it’s in my blood.
What is your most memorable Halifax experience?
I cannot possibly pick just one. I’ve had so many amazing random adventures with my friends in this city.
Why is it great to be young in Halifax?
This city has a great pulse. There are so many people to meet and a great cultural scene.
What would you change about Halifax?
I would add more density. The city has great bones and can support a much higher central population. I would also want to see that density housed in well designed buildings. Pieces of architecture that we can be proud of.
What is your favorite restaurant/pub?
Nectar Social Dining House and Celtic Corner.
What is your favorite meeting spot?
Ristretto cafe in Bishop's Landing.
