FUSION Halifax is a group of young Halifax residents who are inspired to make their city a
better place to live, work and play. For the last 38 years, Earth Day has raised awareness of the challenges facing the environment. On April 22nd, FUSION Halifax’s Sustainability Action Team invited members to pledge to make a change to their day, whether large or small, to help improve our environment… and our city.
Examples of some of the actions that participants pledged include:
"I just received your Earth Day Pledge paper, and one thing in particular caught my attention because I've been trying to find out this information myself. You mention biodegradable cleaning products – I would love to be using more and would like to know if there is any reference list Fusion Sustainability Action team might be providing?" Melanie

"I plan to start preparing my vegetable garden..... turning over the soil and make the beds/rows and I am also going to make a conscious effort to bring my reusable cloth bags to the grocery store" Teresa

"On Earth Day April 22/08 I will use less power all day and when dark, I will turn off all my lights for at least an hour. This weekend I will remind people about Earth Day" Janet
