We know that Halifax is a diverse and vibrant city and we want you to show us why you think so too!

Give us a snapshot of what diversity means in HRM, through a snapshot. What do you see? How do you see it? Don’t limit yourself – think outside the box.

Your photo could feature people, places, organizations, businesses, food, signs, message boards, and beyond—the sky is the limit!

Who:                      All Haligonians --anyone living in Halifax Regional Municipality

What:                     Express Yourself. Do It, Do. Diversity Photo Contest

·         Take a photo that YOU think captures/expresses/showcases diversity in HRM. (This can include any photo you have taken within the last year, scout’s honour!)

·         Submit your JPG photo (preferably no larger than 2MB) to fusionhalifax.ca. Scanned photos and camera phone shots are welcome too!

        Include your contact information so we can get in touch with you if you are one of our lucky winners: Name, Address, Email, & Phone Number. (Don’t worry we won’t share this information with pesky third parties.) 

Add a caption (140 character max.) that describes your photo. Your caption should be in English but bilingual captions are encouraged (in that case, 140 characters max. per language).  For example: English and Arabic, English and Hebrew, English and French, English and Farsi, etc.

·         Win fantastic prizes (outlined below) if your photo is selected by our expert judges’ panel.

·         Inspire the Halifax community—winning photos will be displayed as part of the FUSION Halifax Diversity Photo Contest Showcase at The Hub in June. They will then be displayed at the Keshen Goodman Library, starting on Canada Day. Limited edition Diversity Calendars including the 12 finalists’ photos will also be available sometime in the fall after the contest closes.

When:                    Contest Opens Monday, April 30

                               Contest Closes Friday, June 1

Where:                   All over this fine city. Show us what diversity means to you by capturing a shot anywhere in HRM.

Why:                       Because you are passionate about this city and want to showcase the diversity that makes it what it is.

All photos submitted to the contest will be displayed in our Facebook contest photo gallery. The photo with the most “likes” at the end of the contest will be crowned our Social Media Darling! So post, tweet and share your photo with friends and direct them to our Facebook group. Join one, join all!
