Formed in 2006, artsScene is a group of leading young business professionals dedicated to fostering the growth of the arts in Canada through volunteerism, patronage and support.
Fusion has brought artsScene to Halifax in order to mobilize young business and creative professionals to play an active role in the growth of the arts, culture and creative industries in our city.
Our mission is built around three beliefs:
- Strong creative and artistic communities are linked to innovative and prosperous communities.
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration between business and the arts yield powerful results.
- Empowering and activating our connected generation will grow our creative community.
Fusion artsScene Mission Statement:
Inspiring interest and partnership in the arts in HRM
Fusion artsScene Objectives:
- Introduce Fusion members and other young professionals to arts organizations in HRM.
- Create partnerships and opportunities for arts organizations and young professionals to work together for the benefit of both.
- Promote arts and culture in HRM to Fusion members and other young professionals in order to encourage arts patronage and support.
Initiatives for 2010 include a boardLink event (a matching program that fits young professional into board position with arts organizations), Culture Days Second Thursday, and a soon to be announced Summer Program. As well, we are in the process of creating a Fusion artsScene blog that is committed to promoting all arts and culture events and organizations in HRM.
If you are interested in volunteering on our Action Team or contributing to the upcoming blog about events, issues, and hot topics in the arts community, please contact Jane Shkolnik at fusionhalifax.ca
